Fans are eagerly anticipating "The Winds of Winter," the sixth novel of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George RR Martin, and simply couldn't hide their frustrations when claims of another delay hit the book.

It was in January that Martin made an announcement that the HBO series and the book will have to part ways, because he is not done with the sixth book. Now, it is said that the book will not make it this year, and fans have to wait until 2017 to get their hands on it, Vine Report reports.

A few even mentioned that they will not be believing the hype surrounding the release of their much awaited book because of so many disappointments.

Neil Gaiman, the English novelist, has been linked to co-writing and helping Martin finish the sixth book. However, he said in an interview with Time Out London, that the rumors are not true and he was in Sante Fe with his family and not for any other reason. But he also added that he can't wait for the books to be available.

Gaiman said, "It's kind of frustrating because I promised myself I wouldn't watch the show until the last book came out. It was such an easy promise to make six years ago. You can't shield yourself [from 'Game of Thrones' spoilers]. It's like shielding yourself from political events or from what the Kardashians are doing."

Martin's followers are looking forward to his next reading, which will happen in the upcoming Balticon event on May 27 to 30 at Baltimore, Maryland. The website has announced that on May 26, an exclusive dinner will be held for the author and is dubbed as "The Feast of Ice and Fire Dinner."

The event is a science fiction and fantasy convention and the upcoming one coincides with their 50^th year.

Martin's next public appearance will be at MidAmeriCon II that is slated on August 17 to 21 in Kansas City, Christian Daily added.
