It has been five year's since "A Dance with Dragons" was released and fans have been waiting patiently for "The Winds of Winter," the sixth book in the long-running "Song of Ice and Fire" series, the same series that the "Game of Thrones" HBO show is based on. A new report indicates it could launch this August and it won't be launching alone.

According to a report from the Independent, there are speculations that author George R.R. Martin is going to launch the books together this coming August during the World Science Convention. The author did confirm on his personal blog that he is going to attend and that he will be signing books and reading portions of his work to fans.

The report points out that the writer might be launching both books together and this may be why "The Winds of Winter" has been delayed. Knowing that "Game of Thrones" was already surpassing the events in the books, Martin is speculated to have been working on both books at the same time.

If this proves true, then "A Dream of Spring" may be launching prior to the seventh and eighth seasons of "Game of Thrones," once again allowing the book readers to get ahead of the fans who only watch the HBO series.

Martin has yet to confirm if the rumors are even true and while there is a chance that they are, there is a larger possibility that they are not. It is pointed out that there was a long gap between the release of "A Storm of Swords" and "A Feast for Kings" and then another long gap between the latter and "A Dance with Dragons."

"The Winds of Winter" will continue to tell the tale of the numerous protagonists and antagonists in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and of the eventual return of Daenerys Targaryen who is currently dealing with political strife in Mereen, all while the White Walkers are invading the lands from the far north.
