Fans are asking George R.R. Martin for an update about his progress in "The Winds of Winter" on his blog site. Meanwhile, Martin admits he is having difficulties attending to his priorities because of time constraints.

The sixth book to Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" — "The Winds of Winter" — have been much anticipated by fans of both the novel and the film adaptation series, "Game of Thrones." Readers of Martin's novels are awaiting the next chapters of the characters' lives in "The Winds of Winter," while fans of the HBO series are looking forward for plot spoilers since the new season has not yet aired.

However, Martin has not yet confirmed when he will be able to launch the book and fans are getting agitated that there are still no updates.

In Martin's entry of "Doom, Despair, Defeat" on his official blog site, a fan asked the author for an update and emphasized that it has been a whole year since there have been any news regarding "The Winds of Winter."

Martin responded, "Not done yet, but I've made progress. But not as much as I hoped a year ago, when I thought to be done by now. I think it will be out this year. (But hey, I thought the same thing last year)."

Although both Martin and his fans are hoping that "The Winds of Winter" releases this year, the author admits he is having a hard time completing the book because of time constraints.

In his entry "March Madness," Martin shares that he has been busy with new deals and rereads, including the ones involved with HBO.

"So much to do. And the days go by so quickly. I love my work, all my work, all my projects, all my children, but sometimes it seems as if the harder I work, the further behind I get," his post reads.

The "Winds of Winter" is anticipated to be launched this 2017.
