One would think that the events of Westeros would not have anything to do with the real world, but now fans are really worried that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's shocking loss to Republican Donald Trump will have an impact on the release of the sixth book "The Winds of Winter."

According to a report by Parent Herald, there is a possibility that George R.R. Martin will not release the sixth installment in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series this year because he was deeply affected by the turnout of the U.S. polls. Prior to the elections, it was reported that some of the delays in the release of the overdue book was because the author has been campaigning for Hillary.

While no official statement has come out regarding the issue, there are also reports that the sixth and seventh book in the series will be released simultaneously.

According to a report by Christian Daily, there are rumors that "The Winds of Winter" is already in its proofreading stages. The report further indicated that the last book in the saga — "A Dream of Spring" — will be released in 2017 as well as a surprise for fans who had to wait for years for the sixth book to arrive.

Before this, there have been rumors that the publisher have scrapped the last book totally, but this has not been confirmed by Martin nor his publisher.

"As his publisher, we support George R.R. Martin as he works hard to finish 'The Winds of Winter.' Any on-sale dates currently listed online for the novel are incorrect. Once we have a publication date for 'The Winds of Winter,' the world will know," stated Random House, the publishing company of "The Winds of Winter," to Entertainment Weekly.
