Fans of the open-world exploration, role-playing title "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" have been ecstatic as the first paid DLC for the current iteration, Hearts of Stone, had already made its way to their platforms. However, not all was happy, as some fans have yet to get their editions.

In a report by industry insider Gamespot, some fans were still waiting to get their hands on the newest expansion, particularly gamers who ordered the Limited Edition. Developer CD Projekt Red announced that there will be some delay in releasing the Limited Edition copies of the Hearts of Stone DLC. The delay is for the physical copies at retailers in North America.

Posting the announcement on its company forums, CD Projekt Red said that the reason for the delay was logistical concerns with retailers like GameStop. Community manager Marcin Momot, however, wrote that the delay will be for several days. He declined to comment on the specific delay window.

He said, "We prepared a special boxed edition of Hearts of Stone that was supposed to be sold in GameStop stores all over America. However, it has come to our attention that, due to logistical problems, customers will be unable to obtain the physical edition of the game for several days after launch."

Momot also added that the developer is already working with GameStop to fix the delay and remedy "this situation as soon as possible and deeply apologize for the inconvenience."

Hearts of Stone is the first paid DLC for the third installment of "The Witcher" series. It follows main protagonist Geralt of Rivia as he tries to bring to justice an immortal bandit. The new expansion brings at least additional ten hours' worth of gameplay to the storyline and other new features. The Limited Edition copies of the expansion, meanwhile, contain special bonus items like real versions of Gwent cards.
