Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of patch 1.09 for the "The Witcher 3," but apparently, fans have been waiting for the wrong thing.

According to CD Projekt Red's Marcin Momot, as reported by Gamepur, the next update coming to "The Witcher 3" will no longer be known as patch 1.09 and will instead be designated as patch 1.10.

The name change itself may ultimately be insignificant, but the contents of the upcoming patch cannot be overlooked.

Patch 1.10 for "The Witcher 3" is apparently a massive update, and that's no exaggeration.

According to Push Square, the upcoming patch is so big and so detailed that CD Projekt Red could not even properly provide information about via the traditional method of releasing notes. Instead the game's developer has chosen to put all of the patch notes inside of a 13-page PDF, so interested players will have a lot of reading to catch up on if they want to familiarize themselves with the new update.

Some of the highlights of patch 1.10 include a variety of fixes for New Game+, such as problems regarding certain quests or issues that have stemmed from retrieving date from save files.

The patch also provides a variety of balance tweaks to "The Witcher 3" to help improve the game moving forward.

Also included in patch 1.10 are tweaks being made to Gwent and the game's HUD, among the numerous other fixes that are found in this latest update.

One detail that has not been revealed about patch 1.10 is when it will be officially launched.

As of now, it is believed that patch 1.10 for "The Witcher 3" could either be released alongside or just ahead of the upcoming "Hearts of Stone" expansion for the game, according to Gamespot.

"Hearts of Stone" will be launching on Oct. 13, so that figures to be a possible release date for patch 1.10.
