The next "Witcher 3" expansion, known as "Blood and Wine," will reportedly be "more refined" than the main game.

The comments regarding the upcoming "Witcher 3" expansion came from a GameSpot interview with CD Projekt Red marketing lead Michal Platkow-Gilewski.

Platkow-Gilewski revealed that the upcoming expansion is the product of all the experiences the developers have had from making "The Witcher 3." He added that because of all those experiences, "Blood and Wine" is "more refined" than the main game in many ways.

Platkow-Gilewski added that although the expansion may be "more refined," that does not necessarily mean that it is "better" than the main game.

CD Projekt Red's marketing lead ultimately refrained from saying which one was better between the main game and the "Blood and Wine" expansion. Instead, he indicated that the main game is "better" along with the expansions than it is without them.

Platkow-Gilewski's comments regarding "The Witcher 3" and its upcoming "Blood and Wine" expansion come in the wake of earlier comments made by CD Projekt Red senior writer Jakub Szamalek during his own interview with Eurogamer Italy.

During the interview, Szamalek shared that he believes the developers have managed to create something that is better than the main game, WCCF Tech reported.

Whether or not the upcoming expansion will be better than the main game will ultimately be up for players to decide.

Still, even if "Blood and Wine" is not exactly better than the main game, players can still expect a variety of new content from the upcoming expansion.

"Blood and Wine" is expected to provide up to 20 hours of additional gameplay to "The Witcher 3," and it is also set to introduce a new region known as Toussaint that is also quite expansive.

"The Witcher 3's" "Blood and Wine" expansion is currently slated to arrive sometime within the first half of 2016.
