CD Projekt Red has finally released the first few images of the second DLC pack for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," officially titled Blood and Wine. The images were shared via the official "The Witcher" Twitter page and showcase a location radically different from those seen in the series thus far.

According to a report from GameSpot, the images are of a new location called Toussaint. Unlike the regular cities in "The Witcher 3," the area looks bright and colorful, a far cry from the dark and dour world of the franchise. Toussaint is littered with beautiful villas and flowers instead of the dark and foreboding villages and castles seen in the rest of the game's vast world.

However, the report also points out that this beautiful locale will be hiding its own dark secrets.

CD Projekt Red reportedly stated the DLC will "take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret."

Other than an entirely new and beautiful location for gamers to explore, Blood and Wine will also introduce new gear, items and weapons. It will also introduce new characters while reportedly bringing back old ones who might not have been seen recently.

The Blood and Wine DLC is also said to provide over 20 hours of gameplay, arguably twice that of the first DLC, Hearts of Stone.

According to the report, each DLC is being treated like a full-on expansion intended to provide hours upon hours of gameplay. CD Projekt Red reportedly has criticized the concept of paid DLC in the past and stated that it wants to harken back to the days where games received add-on expansions that were nearly as large as the original game in terms of content.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" Blood & Wine DLC will release for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 in early 2016.
