Developer CD Projekt Red continues to update its current offering in "The Witcher" franchise. A major update, patch 1.12, has just gone live for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."

According to patch notes released with the update, the new patch 1.12 fixes a number of bugs for both the base game and the current "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" expansion, "Hearts of Stone." The full patch notes have been posted online.

Meanwhile, according to Kit Guru, some observers are asking why the title has been taking in so many updates ever since "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" launched in May last year. The new update brings a total of at least 12 patches so far for the title.

The industry follower said that while "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is a major franchise title for CD Projekt Red, the massive scope of the game made bug-hunting and glitch identification, as well as improvements and tweaks, difficult in just one go.

Kit Guru added that the 12 patches also represent the developer's dedication to making sure that "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" experience for players remains as seamless and close to perfect as possible. For example, the latest update, patch 1.12, brought at least 80 tweaks, improvements, and changes in the title.

GameSpot added that even without the improvements and tweaks for the title, the original launch of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was considered to be a success by many observers. While a number of bugs and glitches have been found since then, the title remains a very strong contender, even getting a perfect 10 in the industry follower's successive reviews. In addition, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" also won last year's Game of the Year at The Game Awards and is currently nominated for another GOTY at this year's Game Developer's Choice Awards, to be held in March.
