Developer CD Projekt Red will be releasing a total of 16 free expansion packs for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."

The first two expansions arrived last week, making the Temerian Armor Set available for players via a merchant in White Orchard and simultaneously adding custom beards and hairstyles for the main character, Geralt.

For this week, the developer has already released parts three and four of the planned DLCs. There is a new contract mission called Missing Miners, wherein players have to check out and investigate a small village near Skellige where miners keep on disappearing. The fourth DLC gives Yennefer a new look.

CD Projekt Red plans to release the remaining 12 expansion freebies over the following weeks.

To cap off the good week "The Witcher 3" players are having, the developer has also released a new patch update for the PlayStation 4 version that introduces major design enhancement, gamplay imrovements, and bug fixes. The new update, patch 1.03, corrected several issues that players found out and reported. For instance, a fix was introduced for glitches that allowed players to shoot bolts at friendly NPCs, unstable Stamina regeneration while sprinting, and spontaneous combustion of gas clouds.

In terms of gameplay, the new patch reduced spawn periods for certain NPC groups, fixed dialogue looping and missing translations in some localized versions, and a bug in the Journal in the Fake Papers quest. The patch also introduced general improvements in terms of performance stability, SFX fluidity in cut scenes, and other special effects.

The patch has already been made live across PlayStation 4 versions in Europe, while it will soon arrive for players in North America and Asia. Meanwhile, while also getting the update on their platforms, Xbox One and PC players also got an improved frame rate – the game is now locked at a consistent 30 fps.
