"The Witcher" game series, especially the last "The Witcher 3," has been one of the most monumental role-playing games (RPGs) in this decade. As such, few were surprised when the game was granted its own Netflix series adaptation. Now, reports say that the series has found their writer already.

The writer of both Marvel's "Daredevil" and "The Defenders," Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will also be writing for "The Witcher" adaptation. In addition, Hissrich will also be the show's executive producer and showrunner. Andrzej Sapkowski, writer of "The Witcher Saga" novel series, will also help Hissrich as the show's creative consultant.

At this point, not much is known about what fans can expect from the movie. However, there were previous vague ideas that executive producers Sean Daniel and Jason Brown shared earlier this year. "The Witcher stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world," said both as per PC Gamer. "The characters are original; funny and constantly surprising and we can't wait to bring them to life at Netflix, the perfect home for innovative storytelling."

Sapkowski, the Polish writer himself, was happy to know that there will be an adaption to his story, which he mentions he has written for over 30 years. He also says that the Netflix series would be "staying true to [the] source material" and its themes. That said, as the games were as well based on his novels, fans could possibly expect some unicorns and maybe even some detailed bath scenes with Geralt.

According to Variety, "The Witcher" novels were first unveiled in the 1980's, but they were not novels at the time. Instead, they were short stories that were serialized in a magazine. Then, in 1993, a collection of these stories came out and was titled, "The Last Wish." This became the first of eight book collections. The latest novel, "Season of Storms," was revealed last 2013.
