Fans have been waiting for the return of the much-beloved Adam Newman to Genoa City. Now, "The Young and the Restless" spoilers suggest that recent events are seeming to pave the way for the Newman golden boy's resurfacing.

Everyone knows that the big Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity mystery is on the horizon, especially with all the hints being laid out here and there. Once everything is out in the open, the fallout could lead to Adam's reappearance.

Should this happen, then there is a good chance that an Adam Newman recast will be coming. It would not make any sense for this baby drama to escalate if Adam remained in the shadows for a long, long time.

Looking at the characters who are present, should Adam stay offscreen, Nick's (Joshua Morrow) life will remain constant. While he will be hurt that Chelsea (Melissa Ordway) and father dear Victor (Eric Braeden) knew about this all along and did not tell him, Nick will continue to be Christian's legal father. His name is on Christian's birth certificate and even Victor will agree that Nick should be the one to raise the kid.

But, if Victor is still as ruthless and cruel to his surviving son, then this big reveal would be his last form of attack. He will hit Nick where it hurts the most, and Nick will undoubtedly lose some people in his life. Victor might want Nick to deal and live with the truth. The truth can hurt after all.

On the other hand, it is also possible that the truth may not have been deliberately revealed, but someone might tell all or let it slip. This could happen just when Victor and Nick decide to make amends. In any case, knowing that the big reveal is going to happen, it is certainly the way to bring Adam back into the picture. When it happens, and it is only a matter of time before it does, Nick will likely break things off with Chelsea for her betrayal. He could call her out and swear to make her pay for lying to him.

Now, fans know that Nick is like his father in many ways, more than he probably thinks he is. The same could be said for Victoria (Amelia Heinle), but hers is another story. Nick might swear vengeance on both Chelsea and Victor. He could easily make Chelsea's life a living hell, and he could strike once more at Victor for crushing his world. This feud with Nick against Chelsea and Victor could probably prompt Adam to come back. He might have been watching Chelsea and Nick from afar, and he could probably reason out that he thought Nick was better off raising his son.

"The Young and the Restless" airs Mondays to Fridays, 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
