This week on "The Young and the Restless," there's so much excitement and suspense with the addition of a new character and the return of old ones. Fans need to brace themselves because it will be one exciting ride on "Y&R" from Sept. 8 to 12. Here's what's coming:

Meredith Baxter joins

Meredith Baxter from "Family Ties" has joined "The Young and the Restless" cast, and she will be playing a new character by the name of Maureen. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Maureen will be a trouble-maker and she will be Nikki Newman's partner in crime. Now that Nikki has started drinking again, it seems like Maureen will even be her enabler.

Victor and Sharon's secret

When Victor found out that Phyllis already woke up from her coma, he wasted no time in trying to get Phyllis to speak up about Sharon's secret. But little does he know that he might actually be wasting his time on Phyllis because she doesn't remember a thing.

Victor is hot on Sharon's tail because he wants to find out what Sharon is hiding from Nick. And Victor doesn't have much time to find out since Nick will be proposing to Sharon this Friday already!

Malcolm returns

Malcolm, Neil's brother will appear on Wednesday's episode. Shemar Moore will play Malcolm. His return will be because of Neil's recent accident. According to spoilers, Malcolm hasn't seen Neil in ages and maybe, Malcolm will be the one to discover and expose the truth between Devon and Hilary to Neil.

Jack will know about Phyllis and his love life will get complicated as well. Moreover, Paul is set on investigating what happened to Ian Ward and why there were bloody footprints found.
