Next week, "The Young and the Restless" spoilers indicate that Cane (Daniel Goddard) will be overcome with worry. He has had to deal with the loss of Juliet (Laur Allen), and it seems that he might have to deal with the loss of his son Sam too.

Cane will get some devastating news which will leave him unsure of what to do. Lily (Christel Khalil) will try and offer her support. He will definitely need some of that during this time. Cane will be hit with anxiety when he gets to the hospital. It seems that Sam will suddenly suffer a medical crisis and will be fighting for his life and, to make the situation worse, it is uncertain if he will make it.

Trying to cope with the loss of his child would make a good storyline. It would also pull Lily back into his orbit even more. A reunion for these two is certainly in the works and a tragedy like this could potentially make this reunion happen a lot sooner.

Then again, should Sam die, then other potential storylines could be missed. Fans would definitely be up for watching Cane and Lily raise the boy together. When Sam is older, then he could face various issues due to how he was conceived. Juliet's death would also make it hard for Sam to deal with.

There are also future storylines to consider. Sam might make a good love interest for Katie when they get older. It helps to balance everything out for the teenage group. It would be wise to have kids in the same age range together so they can eventually rapidly age as well, as what happened to Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry).

"The Young and the Restless" airs Mondays to Fridays at 1:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
