'This Is Us' episode 5 spoilers: The Pearsons' love for the Pittsburgh Steelers explained

Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) will both contemplate on their marriage in the fifth episode of "This Is Us."

The episode titled "The Game Plan" will take the viewers back to the past, before the Pearsons became parents. According to the synopsis for the upcoming episode, Jack and Rebecca will find themselves at odds with each other as they talk about starting a family.

Reports claim that the couple will realize that they have different views about parenthood. The episode will also explain why the entire family loves the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fast forward to the future, Jack and Rebecca's son Kevin (Justin Hartley) will realize that the script that he got for his role in the play is relevant to his personal life.

On the other hand, the fate of his adoptive brother, Randall (Sterling K. Brown), lies on the edge in the upcoming episode. The synopsis claimed that he and his wife, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson), will encounter something unexpected.

Based on the trailer for the upcoming episode, Randall and his family will be worried about the fate of his biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones), since he is suffering from stomach cancer. Does it mean that his days are almost up?

The full synopsis for the fifth episode of "This Is Us" was posted on The Futon Critic, and it reads: "Rebecca and Jack get into an argument about starting a family. The family backstory behind the long line of love for the Pittsburg Steelers is revealed. After accepting his part in the play, Kevin realizes his script is relevant to his own life. Randall and Beth encounter an unexpected turn of events."

NBC formally announced that they already picked up "This Is Us" for a full season just before the second episode was aired on the network. This means that there will be 18 episodes in season 1.

The fifth episode of "This Is Us" will air on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
