In the next episode of "This Is Us," the Pearson siblings Randall (Sterling K. Brown), Kate (Chrissy Metz), and Kevin (Justin Hartley) meet together under unexpected circumstances.

The synopsis and promotional photos for the upcoming installment, which is titled "The Fifth Wheel," were released just recently, and they show Randall, Kate, and Kevin sitting on a bench in front of a pond. The two brothers lay their heads on the shoulders of Kate who is in the center of them. It seems they are all sharing a special time together and seeking comfort after the trials that they went through earlier.

Randall tried to adopt a young girl named Deja (Lyric Ross), but it fell through because the real mom was released from prison. She went to Randall's house to get her back. Randall and his family could not do anything but return Deja to her mom. His heart was broken because he really wanted to adopt.

On the other hand, Kate went through a terrifying miscarriage when she slipped on the bathtub and fell. She called out for help but lost her baby when doctors diagnosed her at the hospital. Lastly, Kevin did not fare too well either when he decided to call off his wedding engagement because he thought the marriage would be miserable. Moreover, he was still struggling with a drug habit which might have been the cause of the breakup.

Meanwhile, back in the past, their dad Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) surprises the whole family with a summer vacation. It seems like they will be heading to the great outdoors to share some bonding time with one another. It remains to be seen what will be the outcome of their vacation.

"This is Us" season 2 episode 11 will air on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
