The promo teaser for next week's episode of "This is Us" season 2 does not give much details about what's to come. However, the fans are feeling that episode 13, titled "That'll Be The Day," will be another tearjerker in the series. The reason for this is that the episode could finally reveal the reason behind the mysterious death of Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia), and the previous episode have already provided the hints of the tragedy.
Based on the episode 13 trailer, one might think that there will be no major scenes happening next week in "This is Us" season 2. Although, Elite Daily believes that the episode title itself is a big spoiler regarding the dreaded moment in the lives of the main characters. "That'll Be The Day" appears to be taken from a Buddy Holly song that includes the ending lyrics "Cause that'll be the day when I die." Considering that the previous events in episode 12 are slowly leading to Jack's death, this speculation is likely to unfold very soon.
The fans last saw Jack in "This is Us" season 2 going with Rebecaa (Mandy Moore) to the mall. It would have been an ordinary day for couples to go out and spend time with each other. The two also have a lot of plans in mind about what clothes to wear the next day, as well as the future of the Pearson triplets. Going to the next week's episode, there is no solid indication that the tragic death of Jack will be the next thing that the viewers will witness, thinking how heart-warming and calm the previous episode had turned out.
It is worth noting, however, that there are things present in the previous episode suggesting that "This is Us" season 2 is already heading towards Jack's death scene. For one, Rebecca was seen wearing a Steelers jersey, the same clothes she wore the night that their house caught fire, presumably causing her husband's demise. Lastly, a highlight was given to the smoke detector in their home, which the couple has forgotten to buy the batteries. According to the episode 12 recap by TVLine, everything is now in place for a harrowing sequence to take place next week.
The first few episodes of "This is Us" season 2 have already offered clues about the real reason behind Jack's death. Although, there could be something more behind the tragedy as the present-day characters have not yet moved on from it. As for Kate (Chrissy Metz), she still blames herself for Jack's passing, and the rest of the family refuse to talk about the incident to anyone.
