In the next episode of "This Is Us," Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz) suffers a devastating setback over the loss of their baby.

The trailer and sneak peeks for the upcoming installment titled "Number Two" were released just recently and showed Kate and Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan) sitting on a hospital bed and listening to their doctor. They hold hands as they hear the gut-wrenching news that she has lost the baby due to a nasty fall that she experienced in her bathroom. Prior to the slip, they were in the living room talking about what Kate would ask her doctor about childbirth and how to prepare for it. She mentioned an array of things including massages and baby baths. Damon was supportive and agreed to everything she said. Kate then went to the bathroom to measure the bath tub but accidentally fell in it.

She cried out to Damon who rushed immediately to the bathroom only to see her crying on the floor of the bath tub. Their fear for the worst became a reality. Now, the couple sadly has to deal with the loss of their unborn baby. "Toby, it happened to me. It didn't happen to you," Kate says to him. Toby is shown in the car slamming the steering-wheel in frustration. It remains to be seen if the couple will be able to get over the devastating development.

In the last episode, Kate's brother Kevin (Justin Hartley) went back to his old high school to receive an award of appreciation. However, he was still dealing with his dependence on prescription drugs and struggled through the whole visit. He later found out that his sister had lost her baby in an accident.

"This is Us" season 2 episode 9 will air on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
