The "Thor" franchise has not always been appreciated compared to the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this may no longer be the case with its third installment "Thor: Ragnarok."

The movie will not be out for another few weeks, and full reviews are under embargo until Oct. 19. However, Marvel has already given the go signal for critics to share their initial thoughts on social media, and so far, the reports all say one thing: everyone should go see "Thor: Ragnarok" when it hits the big screens.

According to Comic Book, the consensus says the sequel is not only the best "Thor" film yet, but it is also one of the funniest Marvel films. It doesn't seem to have beaten the "Guardians of the Galaxy" for the critics. However, all of them certainly made it clear that fans have an absolute right to be very excited about the film.

The team, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and director Taika Waititi, garnered universal love from the press so far, as did Mark Mothersbaugh who scored the film.

"Thor: Ragnarok" serves as the first major Hollywood film from the "Hunt for the Wilder People" writer/director. It sees Thor imprisoned on the other side of the universe after his Mjolnir is destroyed by Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Goddess of Death. He finds himself in a race against time to return to Asgard to stop the universe-ending event called Ragnarok. But, before he can do that, he must win a gladiatorial duel against an old friend and fellow Avenger, the Incredible Hulk.

Also starring Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Karl Urban as Skurge, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, the film will be released in the United States on Nov. 3, in 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D.
