SM Entertainment announced last Oct. 9 that Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun have decided to not renew their contracts with the agency.

Official statements from the agency say that only Taeyeon, YoonA, Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sunny have signed and will continue promoting as artists under SM Entertainment.

Fans completely jumped to the conclusion that the girl group will finally be disbanding after 10 years. The agency quickly countered the outcry of the fans saying that Girls' Generation will remain as a team. Even the girls are not thinking about the disbandment. It was a simple matter of contracts expiring and the three girls mentioned, simply decided not to re-sign.

Tiffany, one of the power vocalists of the group expressed her intentions of going to the U.S. to study acting during the group's promotions for "Holiday." Sooyoung, the group's resident fashionista has been hosting a handful of beauty shows for the past couple of years after successfully entering the K-Drama scene. Seohyun, who landed the lead role in MBC's drama "Bad Thief, Good Thief," said that she would want to pursue her acting career at this point in her life.

"The members are not thinking to disband. However, there are members whose contracts have come to an end. The direction of Girls' Generation's promotions will be carefully decided after discussion with the members," SM Entertainment explained through South Korean news portal AllKpop.

Netizens claiming to be fans of the super girl group took to Korean social media sites showing photos of torn promotional posters for albums as well as photos showing broken CDs of the group. This, off course, was dismissed by SONES, the fandom of Girls' Generation, saying that they respect whatever decision the girls would make and are very thankful for the music they have shared for the past 10 years.

How the group will be promoting still as Girl's Generation is in careful discussion with all the parties involved.
