While most celebrities hardly seem able to keep their clothes on in their pursuit of sexiness, Tim Tebow has a radically different concept of what sexiness is really about.

For the footballer and Christian, physical beauty and attractiveness are minor in comparison to a person's heart and how much they value that in themselves and others. 

"Of course I want to look nice and have a good appearance," he told People magazine. 

"But more than the outer shell, I want people to want to be around me for my heart. 

"To me, it's especially important to have a heart for kids who are hurting. Being able to make a difference is something that people should love, and that's something that's sexy about people."

Tebow revealed he is single but open to having a relationship with the right girl, and whether she's right or not will be determined by her character.

"Of course it's important to be attracted to someone, but it really needs to be about who they are on the inside. I've always been attracted to girls whose hearts are the biggest thing about them."

He explained further about his idea of beauty, saying that although people could be very kind to those who can do something for them, he was looking for someone with a more unconditional concept of kindness than that.

"I want to find a girl who will be the same person to those who can't do anything for her in return. It's this way for myself: It's about how we act when no one is watching," he said.  

While he's honest about his desire to look good and "be presentable", he thinks he doesn't have a lot of style sense and will need some guidance from the lady in his life to piece his outfits together.

"I really need a lot of help," he said. 

The former Broncos player's style can't be as bad as he thinks, as he has not been short of TV work during his absence from the NFL. 

Tebow has not played in an NFL regular season game since December 2012, but was hired as a commentator for ESPN's SEC Network at the end of last year.

He seems to be taking the absence from footbal in his stride though, keeping up with intense levels of training and telling Fox 10 in the summer that he was leaving his future in the Lord's hands.

"One of my favourite quotes is: 'I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds my future,'" he said.

"In that, it gives you peace to just continue to work and go after what your heart desires. And when you do that, you don't have any regrets. And that's the best way to live life."
