Time Travellers Warn People About Climate-Changed Future

A group of 'time travellers' from the 22nd century is doing the festival rounds this summer to warn people about the climate-changed future in store for the Earth.

In an interview with Christian Aid, the time travellers said that, on its current course, the Earth is set to become inhospitable to all human life.

One of the travellers, called Blue Sky, said: "We live in space now because planet Earth became uninhabitable due to the effects of climate change.

"We have travelled back from the future to tell you folks what's going to hit you if you don't do something about global warming now."

The travellers have been taking samples of grass and tree branches from our precious planet to take back to their space station, while urging festival-goers to stop climate change before mankind reaches the point of no return.

They also spoke to festival performers including Asian Dub Foundation, Soul II Soul and Lou Rhodes.

Christian Aid sees climate change as one ofthe greatest obstacles to the fight against poverty. While we all have a stake in limiting the effects of extreme weather events such as the floods in the UK this summer, it is people living in the poorest parts of the world who stand to be hit hardest.

Christian Aid already works with communities in developing countries who are dealing with climate change and extreme weather.
