Timothy Bradley Jr. vs Canelo Alvarez or Miguel Cotto winner

Despite the controversy surrounding his recent victory over Jesse Vargas, professional boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. is gearing up for fights ahead.

His win by unanimous decision over Jesse Vargas, 26, for the WBO welterweight crown was shrouded with doubt, though he did dominate his previously undefeated opponent throughout the match.

But in the world of boxing, one punch can make a difference. And Vargas almost did just that as he apparently connected with a punch that almost sent Bradley sprawling. A questionable intervention from referee Pat Russell in the dying seconds prevented Vargas from following up and possibly scoring a surprise win in that match.

Controversy has hounded Bradley's biggest bouts, including his first encounter with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao in 2012. Bradley won via split decision despite a seemingly dominating performance from the PacMan.

Many believe a rematch could be the best way of settling that controversial win, but from the looks of it, Bradley has his eyes set on other fighters.

No names have been mentioned yet, but it seems that the American boxer is keenly awaiting the outcome of the possible showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Miguel Cotto.

That fight has yet to happen, and if Bradley intends to meet the winner of the potentially explosive match, he will have to move up from welterweight to middleweight for it to happen. Bradley will have to weigh at least 154 lbs to meet the winner of the Alvarez-Cotto bout but he doesn't see any problem doing so.

"I can go up and bring my skill. I can do it anytime they want to do it. I'm willing to face the best, but all of these guys have to be willing to fight me," a very confident Bradley remarked in an interview.

Bradley currently totes a 32-1-1 card with 12 knockouts. Pacquiao inflicted his only loss when the two faced each other in the ring for the second time in 2014, two years after that controversial split decision victory over the Filipino boxer.
