Christmas season might be the cheeriest and jolliest of all seasons during the year, but we can't deny the fact that preparing for and going to Christmas celebrations is a tiring thing. It's an effort to shop for gifts and food items, decorate the home, prepare the food and the utensils, and then clean up afterward.

Don't you just wish celebrating Christmas can be simpler, easier, and more hassle-free?

Here's some rest for you

To all who got tired and stressed from all Christmas-related activities, here are a few Bible verses that will help you feel refreshed and relaxed as you believe in Christ and thank God for the salvation that He brings.

Luke 2:8-14

"Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!""

God really loves us. He desires to make peace with us and reconcile with us, and sent the Lord Jesus Christ to give us the way to reconciling with God. Because of what Christ has done, there's no more need to strive to achieve forgiveness; we only need to repent of our sin and come to God.

Matthew 2:6

"But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel."

Friends, we can rejoice in the simple fact that because Christ is our Great Shepherd, we are no longer sheep without a shepherd to care for us. Christ Himself is our Shepherd who not only paid for our salvation, but also paid for our inclusion in God's family (see next point).

John 1:10-13

"He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Christ experienced so much rejection from us, yet He took our place on the cross (see Isaiah 53). Because of what He has done for us, we don't need to strive to be accepted by God - we can simply believe in Christ and repent of our sins, and He will give us the right to become God's own children: accepted, loved, cherished.
