The release date of "Titanfall 2" may have been revealed by McFarlane Toys. The company recently unveiled a line of action figures inspired by the upcoming first-person shooter but it also ended up divulging the game's ultra-secret launch date.

The promo for the action figure teases that the line will be released in "winter 2016." The press release elaborates that they "will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2."

However, when the important bit of detail gained unprecedented attention, Electronic Arts was quick to shed light on the real "Titanfall 2" release plans. When contacted by Polygon, this is what a representative of the game publisher stated:

"McFarlane Toys will be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter of 2016. We have yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn." That being said, it looks like fans are back to square one.

However, Digital Trends notes that MacFarlane Toys is yet to follow up to EA's statement regarding the release date of "Titanfall 2." The site believes that could simply be a target date or a workable timeframe to base on.

It is important to note, however, that EA also stated in its latest financial report that this fiscal year, which runs April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017, will see the new "Titanfall" title out and about.

"Titanfall 2" is a far more ambitious take on the hit shooter franchise seeing that Respawn will be integrating a single-player campaign to the game. The original installment was pure multiplayer. It was also hinted that there will be spinoff titles coming out of the upcoming game as well.

With the announcement of the figures, fans now have one more goodies to look forward to. The action figures stand seven inches tall and boast 15 points of articulation. They come with accurate weapons and accessories as well.

As far as design goes, McFarlane guarantees that the figures will feature "meticulous level of detail."
