TobyMac 'honored' that 5 of his albums have been certified Gold

TobyMac is grateful for the success of all his five studio albums.

Christian hip hop recording artist TobyMac is grateful for the success of all his five studio albums Momentum (2001), Welcome to Diverse City (2004), Portable Sounds (2007), Tonight (2010), and Eye On It (2012).

He posted in his Facebook page a picture of his five studio albums and captioned it, "Honored by my label Capitol Christian Music Group for all 5 releases going GOLD. Wow, thankful to everyone involved ... better together than apart! THANK YOU all for supporting me and buying our records!"

His first album Momentum earned five Dove Awards and a Grammy nomination. His song "Extreme Days" from the album was used in the movie Hangman's Curse and "Get This Party Started" was played in an episode of Roswell. Other popular songs from the album include "Irene" and "Yours."

TobyMac's second album Welcome to Diverse City garnered the artist another Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year and gained more popularity as songs such as "The Slam" was featured in the movie Never Back Down and trailers for films such as Transporter 2, Aeon Flux, and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It was also used to advertise the TV series Prison Break.

Other songs popularized in the album are "Diverse City" which was played in the Veronica Mars episode The Wrath of Con and Konami's Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 4. Meanwhile, the songs "Atmosphere" was used in a Volvo car commercial and "Burn For You" was used for cinnamon gum commercials and a Dr. Phil advertisement.

His third album Portable Sounds was an even bigger hit since it earned the artist his first nomination for a Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. Popular songs from the album include "Made to Love," "I'm For You," "Ignition," and "Feelin' So Fly."

With songs such as "City on Our Knees" and "Showstopper," his fourth studio album gave TobyMac another Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album as well as another Dove Award for Artist of the Year.

His fifth studio album Eye On It had a great start since it debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 1. Songs there include "Me Without You" and "Family." TobyMac's next album is entitled Beyond Me is slated for release this year and he will be touring with Mandisa again this March.
