TobyMac supports young people with half-marathon run

Recent BMI “Songwriter of the Year” winner TobyMac led “Team TobyMac” in the Country Music Half Marathon last week in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of the larger Powered by Hope half marathon team.

Team TobyMac brought in more than $100,000 to help support the education provided at New Hope Academy in Franklin, Tennessee.

Powered by Hope team members were on a mission to turn racial division, class segregation and spiritual poverty into community, possibility and vision.

One may have also considered The View's Sherri Shepherd a member of “Team TobyMac” when she opened this year’s 42nd Annual Dove Awards quoting lyrics from the artist’s popular hit “Made to Love” from his award-winning album Portable Sounds.

Later that evening, the multifaceted artist took home his 16th Dove Award as a solo artist when he won “Best Rock Contemporary Album of the Year” for his latest Grammy-nominated record, Tonight.

In addition to his recent Dove honour, TobyMac recently garnered three Billboard Music Award nominations including “Top Christian Artist,"and “Top Christian Album” while his hit single “Get Back Up” is up for “Top Christian Song”.
