'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege' DLC release date: new operators, 'Operation Skull' expasion pack gameplay footage leaked

Rainbow Six Siege – Operation Skull Rain Recruits Brazil's BOPE OperatorsUbisoft

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege – Operation Skull" DLC is set to arrive on Aug. 2. The expansion pack will include two new operators, Caveira and Capitão, and a new Brazilian fabela map. However, ahead of the scheduled release, an eight-minute gameplay footage was leaked on the Internet and was feasted upon by several fans who were lucky enough to watch it, because the video is not available any longer.

The leaked gameplay footage was first uploaded to Vid.me and shared via Reddit, where several fans were able to see the game's two new operators, their respective weapons and some action on the DLC's included new multiplayer map, set in a Brazilian favela.

The video was immediately taken down by Ubisoft, the game developer and publisher, 15 minutes after it was uploaded, said one user, Microwave Gaming. He also claimed that PC and PlayStation 4 servers went down during the same time period, although it was not sure if the two incidents were connected. Additionally, an official trailer for the upcoming DLC was released a few hours after.

According to the official announcement, "Operation Skull Rain's" Caveira and Capitão operators are from Brazil's Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais or BOPE. Caveira is a defensive operator, skilled with the "Silent Step," and will be equipped with an M12 and SPAS-15 for primary weapons, a secondary weapon of PRB92 and Nitro Cell C4 and Barbed Wire for its accessories.

The Capitão operator is the more aggressive of the two operators, and will opt to attack rather than wait for their opponents. Among its arsenal is a tactical crossbow that can fire asphyxiating bolts. Nobody would want to be near that thing for it will suck out the oxygen within a specific distance. It can also be used to fire micro smoke grenades that can hide positions and team movements. An M-249 and PARA-308 comes in for their primary weapons, similar secondary, PRB92, and frag and stun grenades for additional distractions.

The Brazilian favela map highlights an exterior shell on many of its structures that is meant to be destroyed. Ubisoft tagged the new map as the "most destructible map to date." The new map will come in free for all players, while the new operators needs to be purchased.

"Operation Skull" DLC for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" will arrive on Aug. 2 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
