'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege' open beta delayed as problems and maintenance continue

 Ubisoft

Just days before the official release of the newest strategy and shooter title from Ubisoft, it seems that fans will have to patiently wait for the re-opening of "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege" open beta, as the trial run has been postponed pending issue resolution and updating of system maintenance.

As of today, on the official Ubisoft forums, community managers for the "Rainbow Six: Siege" updated the fanbase that the open beta is still undergoing maintenance as disconnection issues and server downtimes continue.

Community manager UbiEpi updated Ubi_Jax's original post and said, "As communicated with you today, we have performed a maintenance on XB1, PS4 and PC this afternoon. Some platforms are still under maintenance but we are working to complete them as quickly as we can. We will be monitoring how the fixes impact the game experience throughout the night. We will give you another update tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST."

The post also updated players that as of current time, the closed beta for "Rainbow Six: Siege" continues to smoothly run.

The open beta is supposed to run alongside the closed trial run, and was originally scheduled to start Nov. 25. However, Ubisoft found some glitches and issues into the open beta itself. In addition, the issues were not platform-centric, as glitches such as matchmaking bugs for the multiplayer matches and player disconnections have been found to incessantly happen on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms of the trial version.

The open beta is scheduled to end on Sunday, Nov. 29. However, fans expect that the developer might choose to extend the open beta. Ubisoft has not made any announcements if they will adjust the schedule, given that the original launch date was not followed.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege" will officially roll out its full version next Tuesday, Dec. 1, across current-gen platforms.

It may be hard to fathom how such pettiness plays into the government’s wider crackdown on FoRB and other fundamental human rights, or how on earth it could justify extending its repression to children, but ultimately it all comes down to fear.
