"Tom Clancy's The Division" will not have microtransactions, according to Ubisoft Massive Creative Director Magnus Jansen.

In an interview with VG 247, Jansen said that microtransactions, as they are known, will not be present in the game.

He added that there will be no way for players to spend some money and effectively pay to win. Jansen also indicated that microtransactions will not be available for players even just for the purposes of acquiring things such as equipment and even vanity items inside "Tom Clancy's The Division."

Jansen did say that there will be downloadable content (DLC) coming to the game, although he did not elaborate on what kind of content it would be and whether or not players will have to pay for it.

Jansen's comments come in the wake of earlier reports that pointed to a line found on the game's official PlayStation Store page that indicated that there would be some optional in-game purchases, according to NDTV.

Interestingly enough, the most recent iteration of the PlayStation Store page for "Tom Clancy's The Division" no longer contains that line pertaining to the presence of microtransactions.

The change could mean that the older entry for the game simply contained an error that has since been addressed.

Aside from talking about microtransactions, and the apparent lack thereof, Jansen also shared more about what players can expect from "Tom Clancy's The Division."

For instance, Jansen shared more about the items inside the game. According to him, it would be just about impossible to put a number on how many items are actually inside "Tom Clancy's The Division" since players can theoretically come up with nearly limitless combinations.

Jansen also revealed that the weapon mods inside the game would not be usable for all types of firearms, although he did indicate that they could still be installed for numerous guns that fall under the same class.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is expected to be released on March 8.
