"Tom Clancy's The Division" will not have as big of a map as players may have hoped for from day one.

In fact, there will only be one borough of New York that players will be able to explore right from the start, and that will be Midtown Manhattan.

In an interview with Examiner.com, the game's creative director Magnus Jansen indicated that there are still a lot of things players can do inside Midtown Manhattan. He said that it is still a "very sizable open-world game" even if it is focused only on one borough to start with.

Still, some fans are understandably disappointed by the news that "Tom Clancy's The Division" will have only one borough available to start with.

After all, the demo the developers showcased during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2013 featured Brooklyn as its setting, and now, it turns out that location will no longer be part of the game upon launch.

For what it's worth, the game's developers have not indicated that additional areas and boroughs will not be added later on, although they may only be introduced to "Tom Clancy's The Division" as downloadable content (DLC).

Aside from a downsized map, some fans have also voiced concerns over the game possibly receiving a graphical downgrade, according to Tech Times.

Some fans have pointed to earlier trailers of the game as pieces of evidence that it has indeed been downgraded, although it's still unclear if that is the case.

The good news is that fans will finally be able to see for themselves if "Tom Clancy's The Division" is truly worth the considerable hype building behind it.

The Xbox One closed beta for the game is currently scheduled to begin on Jan. 28, while its personal computer (PC) and PlayStation 4 closed betas will go live a day later.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is currently expected to be launched on March 8.
