"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" is set to introduce something new to its fans in the form of a larger than ever 20-player multiplayer mode.

The massive 20-player mode will effectively be the title's online multiplayer offering and it will enable gamers to engage in a skating session together with 19 other fans from different parts of the world, according to Polygon.

Multiplayer in "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" will offer drop-in/drop-out play to facilitate a smoother gaming experience for everyone involved. Within this mode, all 20 of the players currently online can attempt to complete the missions as a unit or square off in individual skating matches.

Players can also unlock more content within the game, currently being developed by both Robomodo and Disruptive Games, through the new 20-player online mode.

It is worth noting that the new online mode will be available only to the current gen versions of the game. This means prospective players who will be purchasing the title for the Playstation 3 or the Xbox 360 will not be able to participate in the 20-player skating sessions.

"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" will also feature a level editor. In this mode, players can create and design their very own skate parks based on templates already present in the game. Once players have finished creating their own skate parks, they can then choose to share their creations with players in the game's online community.

In a post on Playstation's official blog, Robomodo president Josh Tsui, also unvelied the skaters who will be included in the game. The current roster includes Lizzie Armanto, Leticia Bufoni, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Riley Hawk, Aaron "Jaws" Homoki, Nyjah Huston, Andrew Reynolds, Ishod Wair and Tony Hawk himself.

Players will also be given the opportunity to customize and create their own skater for the game.

"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" will be launched on September 29, 2015 for both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, while it is expected to be released on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 some time before the end of 2015.
