Former World Champion figure skater Tonya Harding almost walked out of the show "Good Morning Britain" on Monday after a heated agreement with host Piers Morgan.

Her appearance at the British breakfast program was part of the promotions for her recently released biopic "I, Tonya," which stars Australian actress Margot Robbie. The film follows Harding's fall from grace after the famous attack on fellow figure skater Nancy Kerrigan caused the former's ban from U.S. figure skating.

Morgan was quizzing the retired figure skater about her involvement on the attack when she threatened to end the interview.

"Maybe it suits you to play the victim, but the victim here wasn't you, it was Nancy Kerrigan who had her Olympic dream shattered," said Morgan, to a disgruntled reply from Harding

"Thank you so much I appreciate being on your show, but I think I'm going to have to say have a good night," Harding responded.

But Morgan, a host known for grilling his guests on live TV, was not one to be defeated.

"You're going to end the interview because I think Nancy is the victim not you?" the 52-year-old host quipped.

To this, Harding responded that it is because Morgan would not let her finish her statement. The 47-year-old former world champion explained that the reason she agreed to the movie was to be able to tell the people what she really had to go through at that time.

Harding added that the film is for the many victims of abuse, who are still afraid to stand up for themselves.

"You did know what they were planning didn't you?" Morgan asked, pertaining to how the film seemed to have made her look like a victim.

"No I did not know anything prior," Harding answered.

Morgan ended up having the last word when he abruptly concluded the interview with, "Ok we'll leave it there."

"I, Tonya" was released on Dec. 8, to critical acclaim. Allison Janney recently won Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for her role as LaVona Golden, Tonya's mother.
