Top 5 iOS 8.1.3 problems

iOS 8.1.3 still brings problems to users

Apple recently rolled out iOS 8.1.3 after weeks of beta tests and scrutiny under the mercy of developers. The release notes state that the update brings major bug fixes as well as increased stability and performance enhancements. To be specific, the 8.1.3 version of Apple's mobile operating system not only comes with a range of bug fixes, it also aims to put an end to security breaches and has so far prevented users in jailbreaking their Apple devices. However, despite the tech firm's good intentions, some bugs and issues remain unresolved by the new version of the software.

Below are the top five problems experienced by users after they updated to the new iOS 8.1.3.

Touchscreen and performance issues – It seems that one of the common issues that every new iOS delivers is shaky performance. Moreover, some iPhone 5 users reportedly protested about screen freezes after they refreshed their handsets with new iOS.

Connectivity problems – Most iPhone 6 Plus users complained about connectivity problems and cited some issues with their Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. Some users stated that they could not connect to Wi-Fi networks.

Battery drain – One of the common problems that irk most iOS users is the fast depletion of battery life. It seems that iOS devices have a bug that enables the handset to quickly lose their charge.

More susceptible to crashes – A recent study confirmed that iOS 8 crashes more than the Android Lollipop OS despite the quantity of reports narrating the bugs that Android users are suffering due to the software. The study found out that iOS 8 is less stable in terms of performance causing it to crash more frequently in comparison with Google's latest software.

Cannot revert back to iOS 8.1.2 – Since there is no jailbreak for iOS 8.1.3 yet, users' only option is to switch back to iOS 8.1.2 if they want to jailbreak their device. However, Apple is preventing users from reverting to the previous version of the operating system as it has blocked signing the iOS 8.1.2 version that allows users to easily jailbreak their device.
