"Top Gear" hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have left the show and are now set to do their own series with Amazon Prime. The untitled "Top Gear Amazon" series is set to release this year and Clarkson has just recently confirmed via Twitter that it will be available outside the U.S. and U.K.

One fan posted that it was a "shame" the series was not going to release outside the aforementioned territories, to which Clarkson replied with a quick but definitive "wrong."

Clarkson did not further elaborate but it does prove that the series has bigger plans than simply streaming for places like the U.S. and U.K. via Amazon Prime. The Amazon Prime subscription is available in a wide variety of countries so this may let the show become available elsewhere or it is possible that there are plans for it to release on foreign networks.

Back in November this was also teased by Clarkson during an interview with Mirror. At the time Clarkson stated that the goal of the new show on Amazon was to not only let the global audience be able to watch the series but also to be involved directly with the show.

According to Clarkson, the plan "is planning to broadcast the show from different venues around the world – rather than a set studio base in one location," stating that this "would give fans across the globe a chance to get involved and see the show being made close up."

No official release date has yet been announced but as previously reported, the new show will release some clip or other form of media at about the same time the new season of "Top Gear" -- now with Chris Evans as the lead host -- airs this summer. It is expected that Clarkson's Amazon show will premiere later in the year.
