The "Total War" franchise has been on a roll these past months. With multiple titles in development now including "Warhammer 2," "Rome 2," "Saga: Thrones of Britannia" and "Three Kingdoms," fans should not forget about "Total War: Arena." The 10-versus-10 online battle game is finally out on open beta.

In this game of "Total War," the open beta will have an additional faction that players can experiment with, the Carthage. Interestingly, Hannibal Barca, who is also called the "Father of Strategy," will be leading the faction. They will even have huge elephants on their side to join the fray. Players will control three different kinds of warriors and a commander to lead the army. They can upgrade and level up almost every aspect of their army from the level of the commander to the armory and weapons.

"We are proud and excited to share the results of our work with players all around the globe," says Evgeniy Shukin of publisher Wargaming Alliance, per PC Gamer. "Together with beta testers, we've crafted a game that easily lets newcomers jump in and start battling, while fulfilling the promise to seasoned veteran strategy players who have been at war for years."

The "Total War" game franchise is one that many historical buffs grew up with. While the games in the series were usually single-player strategy games, "Arena" offers a completely different experience to give the competitive side of players that kind of satisfaction when beating other human players.

The game was actually first announced back around five years ago. However, since then, there is not much news was given aside from all the hype that players had for it as the first 10v10 multiplayer game of the series.

Again, "Total War: Arena" is now out on open beta. No release date has been given yet but more details should be out soon.
