Japanese roleplaying game (JRPG) "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II" is coming to the PC on Feb. 14. The game was originally released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in 2016, but similar to its predecessor, will be receiving a PC port.

The game is a sequel to "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Streel," and while the sequel takes place in the same universe as the first game, some gameplay changes have been made to "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II." The game still follows the traditional JRPG format – using its turn-based combat and narrative-heavy gameplay to its advantage, however unlike the first game, the sequel focuses more on exploration and traveling and does away with the more slice-of-life and school-oriented aspects found in the first game. According to PC Gamer, the PC version will also have 50 percent more voice acted lines and an added turbo mode for those interested in speed runs.

"The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel" focused on the Thor Military Academy, the growing conflict in Erebonia, and Rean Schwarzer's introduction to Class VII. The upcoming game however, shifts the focus from military academy life to the now ongoing civil war. The sequel still follows Rean's story, however things have changed. The sequel happens a month later, after the war has escalated, and the main focus is on Rean's escape from Trista and his quest to find the missing members of Class VII in hopes of putting an end to the conflict in Erebonia.

The summary on Steam reads: "Civil war has broken out across Erebonia. After his narrow escape from Trista, Rean will take up his sword again on a journey with his Divine Knight, Valimar, in search of his friends from Class VII and a way to end the conflict before its price becomes far too dear..."

The PC Port for "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel" was first released on Aug. 3, 2017. The game received both very positive and overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam.
