A brand new report suggests that "Transformers 5" will finally feature prominently what fans believe should have been the focus since the first movie, the actual titular mechanoids. This would mean that the latest installment in the franchise will involve no humans.

The speculation was fuelled after the lack of casting news for the film despite the fact that development for it has been going on for a while. At the moment, there remains no news about a human protagonist for the film.

That being said, media outlets would like to believe that "Transformers 5" will focus on the robots, a complete departure from the previous movies. The last one, "Age of Extinction," centered on mechanic and inventor Cade Yeager, who was played by Mark Wahlberg.

Having the mechanoids take center stage in the next installment of the franchise was apparently what has been planned for it all along. Akiva Goldsman, who was once the head of the writers' room for the franchise before Hasbro put him in charge of "GI Joe" and "Micronauts," once told Deadline about their plans for the upcoming robot flick.

"It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe," the Oscar-winning writer said.

But now that Goldsman has been replaced by "Iron Man" writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, it is unclear if this plan still applies. Nonetheless, media outlets think that it would be exciting to see what "Transformers 5" would look like with humans on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, previous plot speculations hint that the movie will be set not on Earth as it was in the previous films but on Cybertron, the homeworld of the robots. It is also being said that the film will serve as Optimus Prime's last ride with new Decepticons and Autobots joining the fray.
