After months of piercing secrecy, details about "Transformers 5" finally come out in the open. The latest crumb of information has to do with the date of shooting the fifth movie in the robot-centric franchise.

The production for the movie will begin in May 2016 and the film should be done in time for its expected 2017 release, according to My Entertainment World.

The information echoes director Michael Bay's statement during an interview with WGN Radio.

When asked by host Dean Richards if Michigan Avenue will be the setting for the movie again, the filmmaker answered, as quoted by Chicago Tribune, "No, we're gonna find a new street."

He then mentioned that he loves Chicago, suggesting that it may be the new location.

Bay has also revealed that "Transformers 5" will be the last film he will ever direct for the mega-franchise, a reality that he admitted during an interview with Hey U Guys that he is "having trouble" with.

As for the plot details, it looks like inventor and mechanic Cade Yeager will remain the star of the film. Mark Wahlberg is set to reprise the role. There are reports, however, that the Autobots and the Dinobots will be the center of attraction this time.

With Bay at the helm, fans can expect tons of explosions and larger-than-life special effects in the highly anticipated follow-up to "Transformers: Age of Extinction." Knowing that it will be his last in the franchise elicits greater expectation.

Although shooting for "Transformers 5" is just months away, there are still no concrete details on the rest of the cast that will join Wahlberg in the new robot adventure.

There is word, however, that new mechanoids will be appearing in the film and that fans will be treated with a good look at the robots' homeworld. Whether or not that will happen, fans will know when "Transformers 5" releases next year.
