Michael Bay continues to prove his love for explosions, as he reportedly recreated Stonehenge, the mystical rock formation, for "Transformers 5" for the sole purpose of blowing it up. Considering that, according to reports, this film is his last directorial project in the "Transformers" series, it seems that he is literally going out with a bang.

According to Laura Haddock, one of the actors in "Transformers: The Last Knight," Bay originally wanted to blow up the real Stonehenge, but settled for its recreation. She said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "I mean the man took a whole crew and cast and unit to Stonehenge and then by the time he had made it down the road, built another Stonehenge just so he could blow it up." Bay himself posted a selfie in Stonehenge on Instagram while he was scouting for shoot locations.

According to the article, the film will show how "Transformers" is linked to Arthurian legend. In fact, at some point in the film, Optimus Prime will meet Merlin and King Arthur himself. Stonehenge will serve as the setting of one of the battlefields that will be featured in the film.

Haddock said, "Michael's sets are practical, so you would think that maybe 90 percent of this film is done on green screen, and it's really not."

According to Movie Web, Paramount confirmed that it will be making four "Transformers" films within the next few years, the first of which is "Transformers: The Last Knight." The story will continue where 2014's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" left off. The other films within the series will be released on an annual basis. "Transformers 6" is expected to come out on June 8, 2018, while "Transformers 7" is targeted to premiere on June 28, 2019.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will premiere on June 23.
