There is no word yet on when "Transformers 5" will be released but to date, there have been a lot of rumors on what to expect. And from the looks of it, things may become a bit complicated.

It was initially believed that there would be two story lines, one would cover Autobots leader Optimus Prime facing the creators (or Quintessons) and a separate storyline which will focus on Mark Wahlberg's character (Cade Yeager).

Voice actor Mark Ryan has since debunked the rumors about the two plotlines, stating on his Facebook page that he was merely misquoted by someone he spoke with at a U.K. event.

Aside from that, new Autobots could be appearing. Among the mentioned Autobots debuting include Scourge, Override, Red Alert, Cyclonus, and Blitzwing. Now, these character names should be familiar for those who read the Transformers books. These new characters will eventually form the team of Ultra Magnus.

A new villain may also come out and he will be Unicron. His name shouldn't be that new, being known as the chaos-bringer who absorbs planets to gain more power and so on. If this follows that script of the old animated movie, this may be where Optimus Prime falls when he sacrifices himself to save the Autobots.

As for Yeager, he will reportedly team up with the Dinobots. He will put his inventing skills to good use, which will eventually lead to him building Hot Rod.

The mention of Hot Rod does spur up something though. In an old animated movie, Hot Rod transformed into Rodimus Prime when he got the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. He eventually became the next leader of the Autobots.

Michael Bay will reportedly be back at the director's chair for "Transformers 5" so this should be interesting.

With regards to how many more Transformers movies Hasbro Studios plans, it is believed that it will reach up to an eighth installment.

Unfortunately, no release date is out yet, although filming for "Transformers 5" will reportedly start next year.
