Upcoming science-fiction adventure "Bumblebee: The Movie" takes another big step by releasing its new logo.

The "Transformers" spinoff recently wrapped up filming, and the new logo was shown in the after party. Hailee Steinfeld (Charlie Watson) revealed it in her fleeting Instagram story. Luckily, Transformers World 2005 captured it for the rest of the world to see.

The new logo is completely different from the initial one revealed back in May, which showed an actual bumblebee with the feel of an Autobot. Production companies normally adjust movie logos several times before the film is released, and critics were quick to notice that the new logo is more suitable for the film's 80s feel.

The modern Bumblebee is still very visible in the new logo, but the retro touch is undeniable. Its crest was also notably changed to the shape of Volkswagen beetle.

Set in the year 1987, the film follows the story of a Bumblebee on the run. He finds refuge in a junkyard in a small beach town in California. Charlie, a teenager trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee as a battle-scarred and broken yellow VW bug, which she revives.

Bumblebee has had his fair share in the five "Transformers" films — first as the guardian of Sam Witwicky (Shia LeBeouf) and later the partner-in-crime of Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) — but among the Autobots, he has always played a supporting role for Optimus Prime.

"Bumblebee: The Movie" is the first spinoff that deviates from the universe created by Michael Bay. It is also the first live-action from director Travis Knight, whose claim to fame is the 2016 animated adventure "Kubo and the Two Strings."

Apart from Steinfeld, the film will also feature John Cena, Pamela Adlon, and more.

With all the post-production included in making a live-action film, "Bumblebee: The Movie" will not hit theaters until December 2018.
