An improved version of the popular action platform puzzle video game "Trine" is expected to be released a few days before Christmas. The game's developer Frozenbyte announced that they will finally release a PlayStation 4 version of the game next week, and it will be offered in a new Enchanted Edition.

The CEO of the independent game developing firm Lauri Hyvärinen shared the good news, saying: "We're really excited to bring the origin story of the Trine series to PS4 in a remastered format with all the goodies of its sequel. To celebrate this launch we've set special discounts and created a bundle of both Trine games on the PS4."

The "Trine" Enchanted Edition pack includes the remake version of the original game that was released back in 2009, as well as a wide range of new visual effects and several gameplay fixes and improvements. It will also have 15 levels of gameplay. In addition, the Enchanted Edition to be released for "Trine" will support both online and local co-op that can handle up to three players simultaneously. The upcoming PlayStation 4 version will also feature 47 trophies that can be gathered by the players.

Frozenbyte also divulged that the improved "Trine" will run at 1080p at 60 frames per second, and there will be an option to use a stereoscopic 3D for those who want to have that kind of gaming experience.

For those who are unfamiliar with "Trine," it is a game set in an abandoned and devastated kingdom inhabited by an undead army. There are three main characters in the game, namely Zoya the Thief, Amadeus the Wizard, and Pontius the Knight. Players can shift between these characters to complete all the levels.

The "Trine" Enchanted Edition will be available in North America starting Dec. 23, and it has a price tag of $14.99. But European gamers can get hold of the game's new pack beginning Dec.17, and it will cost them €12.99.
