"True Detective" season 2 was welcomed with mixed feedbacks and reactions but die-hard fans of the crime procedural anthology believe in the storytelling prowess of Nic Pizzolato. The season is gearing towards episode 2 titled "Night Finds You," which further solidifies the presence of Rachel McAdams' Ani Bezzarides.

The detective will be in charge of an investigation that involves the death of Vinci, California's city manager Ben Caspar, whose body was discovered by California Highway Patrol officer Paul Woodrugh as he walked the beat in the shadowy thoroughfares of the town.

In the synopsis, Ani will work with Ray in cracking the case and finding the person that orchestrated the gruesome passing. Interestingly, Ray's loyalty lies in the corrupt side of the police force and to former crime lord Frank Seymon, who happens to be Casper's partner.

Ani knows very well that Ray isn't the best person to work with on the case and isn't the most honest or encouraged cop either but until "True Detective" season 2 episode 2 airs, fans could only speculate on how the investigation turns out with the two driven by conflicting motivations in getting to the bottom of the heinous crime.

The unlikely pair thinks that Casper's demise may have "anything to do with his fondness for prostitutes" and the new episode of "True Detective" season 2 will show if they hit this one on the nose. Seymon, on the other hand, will investigate on his own, but it will all about his fortune vanishing in a snap.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the investigation on Caspar's case, Woodrugh will realize that his old self, which was changed after working in the military, isn't much different than the victim. "True Detective" season 2 episode 2 titled "Night Finds You" will air Jun. 28 on HBO. Alternatively, it can be watched online through live stream with HBO GO.
