More photos from the set of "True Detective" season 2 were leaked online, teasing viewers about what is in store in the upcoming installment of HBO's crime anthology series.

In the new leaked images initially posted by Just Jared website taken from the "True Detective" set location, actress Rachel McAdams can be seen with co-stars Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch in the same area. The shots were allegedly taken on Feb. 9 somewhere in Los Angeles.

McAdams will reportedly portray the role of Ani Bezzerides, a detective from the Ventura County Sheriff's office who always finds herself in trouble because of her uncompromising ethics. Farrell, on the other hand, will give life to Ray Velcoro's character, which is in a big dilemma because of his compromised loyalty to his bosses from a crooked police department and the gang leader who he used to work for. Meanwhile, Kitsch will portray the role of Paul Woodrugh, a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer and war veteran who wants to break free from his troubled past.

The villain in the second installment of HBO's popular crime drama anthology is Frank Semyon, portrayed by Vince Vaugh. He is a career criminal who is facing the possible loss of his empire when he attempted to make his trade legal but the move was ultimately blocked when his business partner was murdered.

In an interview with People magazine, Farrell talked about his excitement working on the upcoming season of "True Detective."

"I just have such a love for the script and Nick Pizzolatto's writing. He's just an extraordinary writer and creates not only incredible characters, but incredible and very specific worlds. Like regarding the sensibility of a world that the characters inhabit themselves. I'm loving it. We're halfway through, and it's all going well so far," the actor said.

"True Detective" season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in summer.
