Amazon and Twitch announced that Twitch Prime members will get free games starting Mar. 15, courtesy of their new program, Free Games with Prime.

Joveth Gonzalez, a marketing officer at Twitch Prime announced the news on Twitch's blog on Mar. 13. Gonzalez said that Free Games with Prime was made in celebration of the community response to the Twitch Prime Indie Amplifier program as well as to welcome new Twitch Prime members.

Gonzalez said that Twitch Prime will be giving away the best of their previously released games for personal computers (PCs) starting with two successful titles from their archives — first-person shooter (FPS) game "Superhot" and supernatural mystery graphic adventure game "Oxenfree." Additionally, the 2.5-dimension (2.5D) beat 'em up game "Mr. Shifty" will also be released for free this month.

Moreover, Gonzalez announced that all eight titles from the Indie Amplifier program will be made available for free over the next few months. Joining "Superhot," "Oxenfree" and "Mr.Shifty" are two of the eight Indie Amplifier program games — "Shadow Tactics: Blades of Shogun," a tactical stealth game and "Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation," a strategy role-playing game (RPG). The remaining six Indie Amplifier program titles is scheduled to release in the next months. The five games in the March lineup are available for members to download starting Mar. 15 to Mar. 31.

Gonzalez also announced the lineup for the free games for Twitch Prime members in April. Free Games with Prime will release the five free games which include episodic interactive comedy graphic adventure science-fiction (sci-fi) game "Tales from the Borderlands," 2D platform action-adventure game "SteamWorld Dig 2," fantasy RPG "Kingsway," action game "Tokyo 42" and music game "Dubwars."

Players will be able to keep the 10 free games forever. Polygon reported that Twitch launched Twitch Prime in September 2016. Twitch Prime membership is included in the Amazon Prime membership which costs $12.99 monthly or $99 annually.
