Twitter employee deactivates Donald Trump's account on their last day

Twitter went crazy over the news of U.S. President Donald Trump's account going offline. The news sent a wave of confusion and emotion among the microblogging site's users.

Some users wondered if Trump was suspended for violation of Twitter's term of service, which a lot of people have been rooting for. But then, after a couple of minutes, his account was back.

Twitter released a statement saying that the incident was due to human error, which was committed by one of its employees. The social media site also added that Trump's account went down for more than 10 minutes but had been restored. The company is launching an investigation and is taking measures to prevent the incident from happening again.

In a separate tweet, Twitter mentioned that upon investigation, it was found out that the incident was perpetrated by its customer support employee, who deleted Trump's account on their last day. The social media site said that the investigation is still underway.

A report from The New York Times says that the person in question was not a full-time employee of the company but a contractor. This adds more question, as how could a part-time worker have so much access over the account of the U.S. president?
