Rumor mills have not stopped chomping about Charlie Sheen's surprise comeback in the closing moments of the long-running sitcom "Two and a Half Men." Ever since the title of the one-hour finale was set in stone, fans have wondered about his probable return as Charlie Harper. Episode 15 and 16 of the series are jointly called "Of Course He's Dead," part one and part two. 

CBS is mum even in the midst of the frenzy but it, however, teased the appearance of "surprise" guest stars on the episodes. In the official finale information shared by the network, the one-hour ending will address the million-dollar question that is basically on everybody's harried minds: "Is Charlie Harper still alive?" 

Charlie Sheen was the main man of the show for all its first eight seasons until his alleged spat with the show creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre. He was written off from "Two and a Half Men" and his character's death was a bolt from the blue to many. The comedy's season 9 then brought in Ashton Kutcher, who will play Walden Schmidt until the sitcom's end. Despite the big misunderstanding between the two, Lorre is not discounting the possibility of Sheen's homecoming.

"It would be inappropriate not to acknowledge our success with Charlie and how grateful I am and we are. I have nothing but good feelings for those eight and half years," People quoted Lorre as saying as he talked to curious reporters and fans last month. "The show has morphed into something else entirely for the last four years to something we love. How to honor both [eras] is the challenge of this finale, and the other challenge [is] how to get people to watch it without telling them what it is."

Even Sheen is very much willing to revisit the set as Charlie Harper before the beloved show bids farewell.
