Ronda Rousey will remain on the "UFC 2" cover, even after her devastating loss Saturday night.

Rousey was formally announced as one of the cover stars of "UFC 2" less than 42 hours before she would suffer her first loss inside the octagon, ESPN reported.

In her most recent fight, Rousey was knocked out by her opponent Holly Holm, after the latter unleashed a heavy high kick that dropped the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion to the ground. Holm then followed with some ground strikes before the referee eventually jumped in to stop the fight.

Prior to the deciding exchange, Rousey had also struggled to take Holm to the ground and was instead left to strike with Holm, who has a significant boxing background.

Despite the devastating loss, Electronic Arts (EA) Sports has announced that they have no plans to remove Rousey from the cover of "UFC 2."

EA Sports President Peter Moore also took to Twitter to comment on Rousey's recent loss and her spot on the game's cover. According to Moore, EA acknowledges just how unpredictable sports can be. Rousey's loss certainly counts as one of the more unpredictable events to happen in sports, especially considering how heavily favored she was going into the fight.

Along with Rousey, "UFC 2" will feature another cover star, with this one being a male fighter, although EA has yet to name who it will be.

According to IGN, "UFC 2" will be showcasing a lot of new and updated features upon its release.

Among the new and updated features that EA has touted for "UFC 2" are better fight physics that will help create a more realistic feel for the players and also improved fighter animations to further distinguish the athletes from one another.

The game is also expected to feature a revamped career mode along with other new additions that have yet to be announced.

"UFC 2" is slated to launch in the spring of 2016.
