UFC 2015 news: Jose Aldo vows to do short work on Connor McGregor

Jose Aldo seems to be fit and ready to face off against rival Connor McGregor this coming December at UFC 194.

The two fighters were supposed to face off at UFC 189 but a rib injury forced Aldo to pull out of the highly awaited tiff. Taking Aldo's place was the same man whom McGregor went to "war" with last October — Chad Mendes.

By now, everyone probably knows that McGregor won that one, with Mendes fading due to lack of time to prepare. Mendes only had three weeks to prepare against the Irishman, but nevertheless made a good account of himself in the early goings until he was unable to apply a hold, allowing McGregor to get loose.

The color between Aldo and McGregor is no secret. Before and after it was known that Aldo had a rib injury, McGregor threw his verbal shots at the Brazilian mixed martial artist. That included, of course, hitting Aldo with a supposed excuse not to face him at UFC 189.

But now, with a fully healed rib, Aldo is prepped and ready. And this early, he is giving McGregor a stern warning that he intends to do short work on the Irishman.

To sum it up, Aldo vowed that their fight will not be like his last match with Chad Mendes. Aldo won over Mendes via unanimous decision. For the upcoming December tiff, Aldo wants to finish it early and then go home, simple as that.

"It doesn't matter to me if I go in there and finish him quickly, if I drop him with one punch. All that matters is that I walk out victorious," says Aldo during a Facebook Q&A session for Combate.

So with the first shots fired, expect a quick retaliation soon from McGregor. With the fight still months away, expect another colorful verbal exchange in the coming months.
